What to bring
-
Special Dietary Food: We provide food during your cat’s stay, including one pouch of wet food and dry food throughout the day. Should your cat require more than one pouch of wet food per day, please either supply the additional pouches or note that a small fee ($1.50) will apply for each extra pouch provided by us. If your cat has a preferred diet, please bring their regular food with you.
-
Comfort Items: Any favourite toys, blanket, item of clothing that smells like their owner, or bedding for comfort.
-
Flea & Worming Treatment: If your cat is due for their regular flea and worming treatment during their stay, please bring the treatment with you. Alternatively, we can provide and administer it here at check-in or as needed during their stay for an additional fee of $20.
-
Cat Carrier: For the safety of all animals and in line with NSW Companion Animals Act guidelines, all cats must arrive in secure cat carriers when visiting Whiskered Away. This helps prevent escapes and ensures your cat and others stay calm and protected while on the premises. We kindly ask that cats remain in their carriers at all times and are not let at any time.
-
Medication: If your cat requires any form of veterinary medication, please bring the medication along with clear dosage instructions. Additionally, we will need contact details for your local veterinarian in case we need to consult them about any health concerns.
Supplied Food
At Whiskered Away, we prioritise your cat's health and well-being by stocking only premium quality products. We provide food during your cat’s stay, including one pouch of wet food and dry food throughout the day. Should your cat require more than one pouch of wet food per day, please either supply the additional pouches or note that a small fee will apply for each extra pouch provided by us. If your cat has a preferred diet, please bring their regular food with you.
Wet & Dry Food Options:
We provide Advance dry food. Our wet food selection includes popular supermarket brands, such as Fancy Feast, Dine, Fussy Cat, and Felix.
Owner-Provided Food:
Owners are welcome to bring their own wet and dry food at no additional cost.
Feeding Schedule:
Cats are fed twice daily, with dry biscuits available throughout the day for snacking and a wet meal provided in the morning. When you drop your cat off, our team will ask about their usual eating routine and do our best to keep their feeding schedule as close to home as possible.
Special Dietary Needs:
If your cat has special dietary requirements, such as sensitivities related to skin, aroma, digestion, weight control, or is on a prescription diet (including renal, kidney, or urinary diets), we kindly ask that you provide their food for the duration of their stay. This ensures consistency and minimises dietary changes. Additionally, if your cat is particular about their food or requires breed-specific formulas (such as for Ragdolls, Persians, or British breeds), please bring enough food to last their entire stay. Treats, such as loins, broths, creamy treats, mousse, and dry food treats, should also be supplied by the owner.
What if I have more than one cat? Do I get a discount?
Our pricing is per cat, as every guest at Whiskered Away receives the same individual care and attention; from feeding and cleaning to playtime and cuddles. Even when cats share a suite, each one is given dedicated care to make sure they feel comfortable and content. Spaces are limited so that we can give every guest the time and attention they deserve.

Can I visit Whiskered Away before Booking?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to pop in during our opening hours to view our playroom and reception area and get a feel for Whiskered Away.
To keep things calm and stress-free for our guests as they adjust to a new environment, we don’t walk visitors through the private suite section. This is the cats’ quiet time, and too much foot traffic can cause unnecessary stress.
Think of it like visiting someone’s home, you wouldn’t walk through their bedrooms uninvited! We feel the same way about our cats’ private spaces.
Rest assured, our suites are designed for comfort, safety, and enrichment. You can also view photos of our accommodation below.
Receive updates during your cats stay
To receive updates easily, feel free to follow and message us on Instagram or Facebook, that way we can send you photos directly during their stay. Otherwise, we will send regular updates and photos throughout their stay via email.
While we aim to send photos daily, there may be occasions where updates are sent every second day depending on how busy we are caring for our guests. Rest assured, they will still be receiving plenty of love and attention!
Veterinary Care
If veterinary care is needed, we’ll take them to your usual vet (if within 5km), Hurlstone Park Veterinary Hospital, or the nearest emergency clinic as required.
Payment Options
Payment is required upon check-in. You’re welcome to pay by card (1.6% surcharge applies) or cash at check-in. We accept contactless cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and chip payments (Mastercard, Visa, Amex, and JCB).
Prefer to pay in advance? Our EFT details are included on the attached invoice.
