Requirements for Boarding

At Whiskered Away, the health and safety of all our feline guests is our top priority. To ensure a smooth and safe boarding experience, we require the following:

  1. Vaccination Requirements:

    • For cats, vaccination against feline infectious enteritis and feline respiratory disease (F3 vaccination) is required. A current vaccination certificate (certifying that vaccination was done within the preceding 12 months or at least 14 days prior to check-in) must be produced for each cat before your booking can be confirmed.

    • Cats that are not fully vaccinated may be refused boarding to protect the health of all cats in our care.

  2. Desexing Policy:

    • We only accept desexed (neutered/spayed) cats for boarding. This policy helps maintain a calm and stress-free environment for all guests.

  3. Flea and Worming Treatment:

    • All cats must be flea-free and treated for intestinal worms before boarding. We recommend using a veterinarian-approved flea and worming treatment.

    • Owners must provide details about their cat’s most recent flea and worming treatments at the time of drop-off, including the type of treatment and the date it was administered. Cats displaying signs of flea infestations or worm infections will not be accepted for boarding.

    • If a cat arrives without current flea and worming treatment or if we have reason to believe the treatment is not up to date, we will provide the necessary treatments, which will incur an additional fee at the owner's expense ($25.00 per treatment).

  4. Health Status:

    • Owners must inform us of any pre-existing health conditions and provide details of any medications their cat may require during their stay. We are happy to administer prescribed medications with prior notice.

    • If your cat is unwell or showing symptoms of a potentially contagious condition, we reserve the right to decline the booking to protect the health and safety of all our guests.

    • If your cat becomes unwell during their stay, they may need to be isolated for a period of time for the wellbeing of all cats in our care.

  5. Behavior Assessment:

    • We reserve the right to conduct a behavior assessment upon check-in. Cats that display aggressive or overly stressed behavior may not be suitable for boarding.

By ensuring that all cats meet these requirements, we can provide a safe, healthy, and enjoyable boarding experience for everyone. If you have any questions or need further clarification on our boarding requirements, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
